The Awakening
Is anywhere on Thera safe from Nessemi?
Or the hell that lies beyond?
“We are all connected, Emilya. We all contain the same energy…”
Emilya Luca has witnessed the harrowing death of her beloved guardian, Elyse, at the hands of a small group of malevolent monks. Still traumatised, she must somehow escape their clutches to ensure justice is served, whilst also come to terms with a strange and growing presence within.
Meanwhile, Princess Alicya is also on the run with unpredictable murderess, Rosa, and Jake and Harry continue to be hunted to the death by the ruthless and odious Prince Magnus and his army; across mountain, plain, forest and lethal marshland.
Hundreds of leagues south, on the supercontinent of Epanaga, Draxaelen continues to fight for his life as a now-established gladiator, while Emperor Calidius continues to roll out the brutality of Expurgatio – mainly to distract the people’s attention from the menace of Nessemi, which now looms ever-larger in the night sky.
Indeed, the possible end of the world will soon be announced globally, bringing anarchy, opportunism and vile atrocities.
'These books continue to remind me of A Song of Ice and Fire, with a deadly looming threat overshadowing peril and conflict in the lives of our characters. Beardmore knows when to finish a book leaving you asking questions and keen to discover more.’ -- LoveReading
‘I am in awe at the depth of creativity and cultivated discipline to see this complex story through. The characterisation is terrific! I would give an arm and a leg to have these books directed into a movie series.’ -- onlinebookclub.org
